The eruption of Vesuvius in Roman times has buried the city in the memory of ancient populations, arresting the growth and the brilliance until the Middle Ages where the colonization of new territories gave back life to the forgotten city in the ashes. Only in modern times with the cultural interests linked to its history rediscovered by accident, it has brought to light the artistic heritage of great value that make it today one of the most visited cities in the world. Since 1997 the Pompeii archeological excavations have become part of the artistic heritage of UNESCO to preserve the integrity and historic charm.
Herculaneum: After Pompeii, you can continue the tour on the history of this area with a stop in Herculaneum. Another city which in the ancient era was touched by the Vesuvius eruption. His story its important for the influence that it had in the eighteenth century for the Europe through his archeological sites founded by the princes of the era who are in love with this fascinating area. Infact, besides the archeological sites linked to the eruption of the Vesuvius, Ercolano is famous for the "Miglio d'oro", a stretch of road that start from the archeological sites and arrive up to Torre del Greco and at its sides there are palaces of the eighteenth century. From Ercolano starts also the road which leads to the large cone of Mount Vesuvius.

After the visit to Pompeii and Herculaneum, you will be guided on its slopes to taste within the walls of a real traditional wine cellar of the region, a variety of local wines.
