Naples is the third most-populated city in Italy and the biggest city in Southern Italy. Its name comes from the Greek Neapolis meaning new city. Its close proximity to many interesting sites, such as Pompeii and the Bay of Naples, makes it a good base for exploring the area. Naples is a lively and vibrant city, full of wonderful historical and artistic treasures and narrow, winding streets with small shops, making it worth at least a few days visit.
1)The Archaeological Museum considered one of the most important for Roman history in the world. It hosts most of the artifact from Pompeii and Herculaneum, as well as some artifacts from the Greek and Renaissance periods.
2)The art gallery of Capodimonte that hosts the historic apartment with the rich Farnese collection with works by Titian, Masaccio, Botticelli, Raphael, Guido Reni, Brueghel the Elder, Andrea del Sarto and the gallery with works from 200-700 by Ribera, Goya, Pinturicchio, Vasari, Mattia Preti, Ribera and the extraordinary "Flagellation of Christ" by Caravaggio.
We will also do a driving tour to Piazza del Plebiscito to look at the Royal Palace, Galleria Umberto, Teatro San Carlo, Maschio Angioino. Then, we will take a walk in the old part of the city (called Spaccanapoli) to look all the different type of architecture, as the Medieval, Renasissance and Baroque. In this area there is same of the most important Churches than needs to be seen, such as: Santa Chiara, Gesù Nuovo, San Severo Chapel and the Duomo of San Gennaro.
